On Saturday, I visited Soyuzivka—a Ukrainian resort in upstate NY where Mom went to camp every summer—for a big Ukrainian festival. The first thing on the agenda was getting me my first taste of pyrohy (pierogies, for the non-Ukies). Yummy! Here's a video of me getting down to business, along with the contented (and wobbly) post-meal stoll I took around the food tent.
They had a pyrohy-eating contest in the afternoon. Looking back at my gusto for them, I guess I should have entered!
