Back in the saddle again
It's been five days since I asked you guys for advice about my late-night restlessness, and I'm happy to say that I've bee sleeping through the night ever since! Even better, four out of the five nights I made it till nearly 7 am, which is almost an hour longer than I had been sleeping for most of 2008. Yes, I'm still twisting myself into odd positions—today Dad discovered me in my crib on all fours, facing him—but we're hoping that aside from the occasional blip, this latest crisis has passed.
However, I did want to share some of the advice that came in. Grandma said—quite accurately, it turned out—that this was probably just another phase on my way to toddlerhood and hopefully I'd be sleeping through the night again soon. Wow, I should ask her to give me lottery numbers! Then she said something truly terrifying: my Dad didn't sleep through the night until he was 2—talk about a slow learner!
My best friend Isabella also wrote in to say that she goes through the same thing at night. She told me that she turns over every night and if she makes enough noise, her mom or dad takes her back to their bed. She wrote more after that, but once Dad read that last part he deleted the email and tried to convince me that Isabella was just joking. I don't know, it didn't sound like a joke to me...
But thanks Grandma and Isabella for your advice, and perhaps you can help me through my next kiddie crisis!
